Our Location

Getting to Roma del Mar is easy. Located just a 10-minute drive from Playa Naranjo where ferry boats regularly provide a car and passenger transportation service. This enjoyable, one-hour, fifteen-minute journey takes you to Puntarenas, the main city on the Central Pacific Coast, which is a 90-minute drive to the Juan Santamaria International Airport and the capital San Jose.

Alternatively, you can fly into the Daniel Uber International airport located in Liberia, which offers connections to many US cities including Houston and Dallas and is just a 2-hour drive away.

The regional airport of Tambor is located one-hour south and offers connections to San Jose and other parts of Costa Rica.

The community is situated in the south-eastern part of the Nicoya Peninsula and offers spectacular views over the islands dotted about in the Gulf of Nicoya, and across to the mainland.  The 200-acre hillside site embraces a large amount of lush tropical forest in which a huge variety of wildlife abounds.

You will be enchanted with the antics of the howler monkeys and surprised by the huge noise these little friends can make. Birds, butterflies and animals live harmoniously with the respectful and tasteful development of the Roma del Mar residences, the premier properties on the gulf.

Surroundings

The beaches are peaceful and offer safe swimming within the protection of the gulf. Residents can enjoy five different beaches within the 1.2-miles of beachfront which forms part of the community land. This is an idyllic place to practice all kinds of water sports and many of our guests and residents have their boats in Roma del Mar and launch them from here to depart for a fishing trip or to explore the nearby islands.

The Gulf of Nicoya is renowned for its fantastic sport fishing, and fishermen will be thrilled by the variety of species and the fight some of them put up.  The famous Isla Tortuga is just a short boat trip away, and here you can enjoy palm tree fringed white sand beaches and unparalleled snorkeling. You can even experience the marvelous natural phenomena of bioluminescence
