Forgot to bring some books? No problem, we have plenty of books in German & English.

Around 30 degrees Celsius and similar to climate of northern area and a lot less humid than the Southern part of Costa Rica like Jaco. Even in the “Green Season” (end of May to end of October), we do have beautiful weather. It normally rains in the later afternoon or night and there are several weeks in June and July with no rain at all.

The water comes from a well within the Roma del Mar development.

Yes, many of the villas are for rent. Our onsite rental manager takes care of the check in and check out of the guests and renters.

The closest way from San Jose is taking the ferry from Puntarenas to Playa Naranjo. When coming off the ferry, you turn left onto the road to Paquera (turn left at first crossroads, the gas station is located at right hand side). After 1,5 miles there is a little village called Bajos Negros. You will see a big sign for Playa Blanca and Roma del Mar, please take a left and turn left again after 500 m into the big entrance with the Columns. Follow the street for about 2 minutes and you will see a red building on your right-hand side. This is our onsite grocery store where you will meet our rental manager.

We have high speed Internet in all Villas!

Besides our new restaurant Aroma del Mar, there are some restaurants close by, but everything still low key as this area is not one of the big tourism places of Costa Rica– just come and check it out yourself!

The next doctor (English speaking) and clinic is in Jicaral (25 minutes); the next hospital is in Nicoya (1 hour drive) or Puntarenas (30 min by boat).

20 minutes’ drive to the next little town Jicaral where you can shop for groceries etc. Another option is Puntarenas (by ferry).

The villas are located within the Roma del Mar development which has 5 beaches and are mainly 200 meters from the beach. There is a beautiful white sand beach just 10 minutes from us called Playa Blanca.

Puntarenas to Playa Naranjo:
6:30am, 10am, 2:30 pm, 7:00pm;
Playa Naranjo to Puntarenas:
8am, 12:30pm, 4:30pm, 8:30pm;

From the international airport San Jose to Puntarenas approx. 1,5 hours; then a trip on the ferry to Playa Naranjo (1hour 15 minutes) and finally from the ferry terminal in Playa Naranjo to Roma del Mar 5-7 minutes.

Another option is the airport in Liberia, which is north on the Peninsula of Nicoya and only 2 hours’ drive from Roma del Mar. The main advantage is that you do not depend on the ferry schedule and there is very little traffic.

We recommend that you fly to the Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia just 2 hours north from us. The advantage is that you don’t need to take the ferry across the Gulf of Nicoya. There are flights to Houston, Miami, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Montreal, etc.
